The Rule of Six

This is a pretty simple one, let’s see if I can state it in a straightforward way:
Any group of attendees, once they have increased to six or more people, will be unable to remain in a single group in geometric  proportion to the number in excess of six.

Six

Six

More than six people?  Good for you, Miss Popularity, but after a short time at Summerfest, you’ll find yourself broken into small groups of three to six.

Or perhaps you wind up as one lone Festgoer, morosely lurching back and forth, stepping on feet and plaintively moaning “Guys?  Guys?  Where’d ya go, guys?”
